The line up for Batman 3 looks pretty good. Most of the cast I can say, as a nerd girl I am happy with. Christian Bale is always easy on the eyes and brings the hottie swoon factor as both Bruce Wayne and Batman.
My beef here is not with Christopher Nolan. Not this movie. My problem is with one actress/character in question and her little not so shiny suit.
Anne Hathaway as: Catwoman.
And that outfit…oh hell no.
A little background is necessary here. Anne Hathaway did some cute Disney stuff and played the airy, absent-minded white queen in ‘Alice in Wonderland’ a la Tim Burton quite well. I enjoyed the ‘The Princess Diaries’ and ‘Ella Enchanted’, as cute and fun and SUPER Disney movies. Seeing her in other roles where she keeps playing herself (Devil Wears Prada, Bride Wars, Get Smart, Love and Other Drugs) has given me the general feeling that this is the complete depth of her as an actress and she really is just that….deep. With a cast of actors suck as Michael Caine, Christian Bale, and Tom Hardy as Bane she is out of her league.
My last bitch is a fashion thing. What the what is she wearing? Where is Selena Kyle’s mentally messed up sexuality that exudes through her catsuit? This suit is not only unflattering. It is most definitely not sexual. It is reminiscent of a wetsuit for pro-divers and stiff looking. There is no cat-like anything to this outfit, and somebody please tell me where her goddamn ears are?
Sorry Batman 3 but I deem this costume and character a fail. I’ll still spend $14 bucks on the movie. But if you here someone cursing every time Anne comes on-screen in her wetsuit, that’s me. Please don’t throw anything. You know you hate it too.
