10/15/2012 Maggie Barry & Michael Antonio Shoes Fashion Show. #LAFW #SS2013 #Stunning (photo/video)

I am a Michael Antonio Shoes fan girl. For a long time I have been wearing, toting and secretly adoring their shoes. I love the style, grace, comfort and sexy they bring to my petite feet. Quite possibly, I dream of Michael Antonio shoes, because they are not only wonderful to wear but a late night fantasy (shhh it’s my dirty little secret).

Maggie Barry is a creative genius, bringing imagination to life. Her clothing has been worn by stars who walk on air and want art in fashion as much as she does. She created Cher’s famous leather thong outfit from her ‘Turn Back Time’ video and she works, and plays with such famous names as Lady Gaga, Miss J. Alexander (ANTM) and uses singer and model Morganne Picard as her spokesmodel for her brand.

LA Fashion Week on Monday, October 15th was a visual collaboration brought together by both of these artists & designers to create a step away from traditional fashion to bring Fashion fusion/footwear to life for Maggie Barry and Michael Antonio’s SS 2013 show in downtown’s nightspot, Exchange LA.

This brought designers, stylists, fashionistas, actors, actresses, fashion/event photographer, trend watchers and the artistic diva’s of the night out.

I ran into Eric of Prep Jerks whose business as a stylist and fashion forward man is booming. Keep an eye on him here http://www.prepjerks.com. He’s got a taste for business, design and fashion that is unparalleled. Go Prep Jerks!

The collection was stunning, eclectic, bright, beautiful, unique and I loved every moment. I ran into friends (Vikki Lizzie, Sabrini Paridisi) saw a freak chic ladies from acting (Bai Ling, Phoebe Price) and loved the sleek futuristic runway clothing and shoes. From the flash to atmospheric after party, this event was a win/win.

Let’s take a look at who and what showed up,

A very HUGE thank you to Bob Degadillo for use of his photos!! He always makes me look gorgeous

Yes men dressed well too. Kilt’s are ALWAY in.
Showing shoes to Eric of Prep Jerks. Available at Bizzy B of Hollywood.
Loved her outfit, classic black with perfect bow topper.
This is how to steal the show. Greatest hat I have ever seen as well. unfortunately it’s a New York city one-of-a-kind find. Sorry ladies.
Best guys to party with. Over bar the bar these guys were cracking me up.
LA girls
Packed!
The most fabulous jacket there. Missing in photo, the sequins attached to this were iridescent.
The show ended with a giant dancing orb

The show tapped into an amazing visual of light with a cross of adult animation come to life. Think Aeon Flux done right. I have to commend and recommend checking out Maggie Barry for those who haven’t seen her art and fashion. The woman is beyond a visionary.

Check out the runway video below (I was in an uncomfortable position making, however it somehow made great footage).

L.A. Culture Night Out; Event by Leveled Magazine & Den. M. Bar

People seem to enjoy hating on LA.

We have been pegged as a soulless society of plastic people in tinsel town. That is why I LOVE proving the outside world W-R-O-N-G.
LA is a cool town, with too much to do. We thrive in culture, artistry with a neo-futuristic background to live in reminiscent of ‘Metropolis’. We have underground culture an are the bringer’s of new, not old.

Case in point I bring you Leveled Magazine & Den.m Bar’s Wednesday social at the Hive Gallery in DTLA.

Let me explain a little about the cool cats who ran this, starting with Leveled Magazine;

Their Mission; Bringing the culture of Los Angeles (and the world) to your brain. With everything from epic editorials to fierce fashion these guys have won me over. I get sick of ‘genre’ magazines that cover one maybe two things.

This month’s issue includes a Beautiful spread on Audrey Kitching and a weird editorial article & photo shoot with stars like Bobcat Goldthwait and Kathy Griffin.

Let’s take it a step further for the fashionably aware out there.
Los Angeles hippest custom denim company Den.m.Bar was repping this too. Den.M Bar for those not in the know is best described as a couture jeans company. Walk in and pick from a huge line of custom denim creating a jean for yourself that includes picking out your own zippers, pocket cloth and even thread. Custom is the 21st century ultimate couture and now it’s accessible.

Angelenos are notoriously picky ranging from food to clothing despite our casual looking lifestyle. Which is why I only go to events like this. With fashion, culture, and an open bar. Yes, Leveled Magazine had drinks mixing voddy with One Coconut Water or ever lovely Honest Tea. There was even fizzy Kombucha from the fab people at Health-ade.

Now you have a perfect evening. I even have the pictures below to prove it.
Check out the gallery below

Seem’s LA culture is alive and well. Perhaps the whiners out there will reel in the snotty comments on how LA ‘has no culture;.
Let’s face it kittens. When we do it, we do it right and with a BANG. LA’s luxe crowd never looked so cool in 100 degree weather.

Happy Birthday to Me and Birthday Bash Details

Today is my birthday loves and this little redhead is taking a day off. Today I will be taking it easy, loving myself (no, not that way) and doing what ever I can dream up on a ridiculous budget.

Tonight however I will be rocking out with my lady bits and of course friends, family, and fans. Here are the details:

Heathyr’s Birthday at  Bar Marmont, 8171 West Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90046

Starts at approx. 10:30pm

It’s my birthday on May 24th because….well we all have one. Dress code is nice, casual and not better than me. Everyone’s invited, I am making this a secret VIP freaks and geeks nite at Bar Marmont. I want the fashionistas/os, the pretty people, the weirdos, the stompy stomps, the artist noirs, models and porn stars to come out. I don’t care what you are, just come get me drunk and act fabulous.
Now you have details, time place and yes it’s 21+. Come as you are or come naked (they probably won’t let you in if you do). Hell, come buy me a drink!
I’m off to make things happen. Back tomorrow, internet willing.

LA billionaire merges with Barneys to become chairman of the board. OWN IT!

Image

Seem’s Angelenos are putting fashion on the map more and more everyday. An LA business owner merged with Barneys of the infamous Barneys NY to become a partial owner and a member of the board. ApparelNews.net;

Billionaire Ron Burkle, whose Yucaipa Cos.investmentfirm is headquartered on Sunset Boulevard, has joinedPerry Capital of New York to take a majority share in the retailer. As a result, Burkle will gain a seat on the board of directors. Richard Perry, head of Perry Capital, will become chairman of the board.

Let’s hope these means better shopping for Los Angeles and maybe, eventually (fingers and pedi toes crossed) we could get a REAL fashion week back. We shall see. What do you think fashionista?
