Mark Zuckerberg Gets His Hoodie Freak On….On Wall Street

Image

Today Mark Zuckerberg showed up to his meeting with major Wall Street conglomerates wearing his signature hoodie. Next week Facebooks billion dollar stock will hit the market. This casual attitude made many bankers ‘uncomfortable’ feeling that Zuckerberg was ‘too immature’ to run the company.

Question? Inferiority complex much? Sounds like Wall Street could use some fashion advice from this 30 something year old seeing as Facebook now has 901 million users.

Balmain Bisous for the Bitch Goddess

I found the ultimate pair of pants.

They are dark, motorcycle bitch goddess sexy and not for the novice. these are utterly modern, stylish and unique. They are succulent, sexy and make your posterior look beyond amazing. They are…Balmain.

Who is Pierre Balmain and why has he stolen my heart? A quick history;

Pierre Balmain was born in St Jean de Maurienne, Savoie, in 1914. After the end of the war, in the autumn of 1945, having studied under the greatest couturiers of the time, Molyneux and Lucien Lelong, he opened his own Couture house and set up business in the Rue François 1er. (Source from Balmain.com)

The house of Balmain has a history that is rich, colorful and IS the name of luxury. Balmain bridges the gap between old couture and new street style. I admire the designers they have for taking a dash of Mugler and mixing it with Dior-esque timeless charm. That is why these tasty little wax jeans are my new obsession.

Pierre Balmain Wax Coated Stretch Pants

They are sexy and oddly enough high-end enough they can be thrown in the mix for a red carpet casual look. I also can see my self riding a motorcycle in them. Rough and tumble with sass and ass.  Brings out my diva bitch while keeping it classy (right ladies?).

Balmain embodies Paris but also a worldwide savoir faire. They know something the rest of us have yet to catch on to. How to keep casual sexy. Balmain is my new love. It is parfait amour with 1,000 Balmain bisous.

Don’t worry kittens, I’ll save kiss for you.

Mr. Black LA, ass less chaps optional

Hollywood is the land of dreams, nightmares and all surreal and plastic things coming to life. We are a land of living dolls and beauty queens. If you mix the VIP nightlife, add a dash of make up queen and some really good music you get Mr. Black LA.

I have to give endless amounts of props to Luke Nero. It’s his baby. He started it in NYC and made a seamless transition to LA. I am happy to say this is one of the only free clubs in Hollywood, is at the LUSH club Bardot, has an open vodka bar from 9:30-10:30pm (sorry it’s 21+ kids) and has waiters…in ass less chaps.

Why it took me this long to go I will never know, but thankfully my friend, and resident DJ Josh Peace got me to go. He is a king amongst men and his sets are professional, well mixed (how many DJs do not know what they fade slider is?!!) and he’s a great guy.

The crowd is a perfect mix of drag queens, make up queens, gays, straights, rockers, Lenora Claire, Luke Nero, art geeks and the just plain normal. For this reason I got fabulously dressed up in my Adolfo Sanchez spike hat, my Toxic Vision Corset and the biggest heels I could find.

During my night I got compliments, picked up and twirled by a gorgeous 20 something, flirted with by boys, girls and talked to a completely interesting and diverse crowd of club goers.

When I had to leave early, the dance floor was packed and  it was difficult to get out the door.  I said a sad goodbye to Josh Peace who was playing and amazing set and was in the ‘DJ Zone’. we said a sad good-bye to the nice ass less waiter with mickey mouse ears and headed out for the walk home. (Don’t drink and drive please)

Will I go back? Absolutely. Tuesday nights are now reserved. If you want to find me I will be dancing the night away at Mr. Black’s LA at Bardot in Hollywood. Luke Nero has created the perfect club to get your freaky geek on. No matter what you are looking for it’s there. Just be careful what you ask for. You will definitely get it.

Mr. Black LA is every Tuesday, 21+ at Bardot (btwn Hollywood Blvd/Yucca on Vine St.)

Daphne Guinness + David LaChapelle = Inspiration

I believe that it important to remember that we live in one of the most exciting era’s of Fashion. The 21st century has brought us some of the most important Fashion icons since Coco Chanel.

I wanted to share some of the mad genius that is being devised now with two of my favorite and most important influences. David LaChapelle and Daphne Guinness.

David LaChapelle’s imagery is creationism at it’s best. Color, vivid imagery and a twisted mind has set him apart and brought him to the forefront of both art and photography.

Daphne Guinness, although the heiress of the Guinness fortune, has become an icon in Fashion as a model, collector of couture, designer, creator of her own make up line for MAC and best friend of the late Alexander McQueen but continues to inspire.

Together they conceived one of the most stunning photos I have ever seen.

Guinness Submerged herself repeatedly underwater for up to two minutes in order for LaChapelle to get a perfect shot.

The imagination is limitless. Dream big darlings. This proof you can always exceed even your own expectations with inspiration.

NYC Red Carpet K.I.S.S. (keep it simple sexy), or DIY

New York? Fashion mecca. It represents style, icons of fashion, NYFW and business, business, business. It is voguish and ALWAYS well put together. It is modern, without being crass.

It is what is in, makes red carpets glow and is easy to do at home. We’ll call it DIY NYC Red Carpet.

Using the NY Tribeca Film Fest as an example I will share 2 easy ways to ‘bring it’ like you are straight from the big, bad apple and just stepped out of a limo.

Pure and Simple

I recommend using caution with all white outfits. There is the chance it can make you look uncomfortable and dirt/accidents can kill your fresh look. Leelee does prove how stunning it can be. By adding a bright red lip and emphasizing her waist line (figure is everything w this look), it’s a WIN.

Try a blouse from Banana Republic’s ‘Madmen’ collection and add full skirt to recreate this. Stay away from tiered skirts ladies. Your figure gets lost, and are best left for fiestas and country casual

Color Blocking

This is a great look that has shown up on the runway’s for the last year and a half. It’s not going away and can be worn any season.

Colorblocking CasualLily Cole, Color Blocking Casual

Easy to do and not leaving the runways any time soon color blocking is everywhere. Lily Cole chose this with a casual flat and it’s stunning and easy on the eyes.

For red carpet DIY, choose a neutral colored dress with color in the blocking. It’s easy to decide where your burst of color shows and keeps things interesting. Pair it with a neutral or metallic heel and it’s easy to turn this in to a day/to night event outfit.

It’s  easy to overdress. In New York you need to bring the classic sophistication without looking like a loud party girl, LA Style. Too many accessories and an outfit that screams too much is too often a fashion foul. We try more when it should be less. These are just a few easy ways to go with my K.I.S.S. method (keep it simple sexy) for the Fashion Capital of the US.

This proves that over doing it, is best left to the Lady Gaga’s of the world, or that special look known as LA style.
