I love it when companies open their archives. Chanel recently posted this video from 1973 of a young goddess known as Catherine Deneuve advertising their perfume.

I love how all they needed was just her. She just purrs and oozes that ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’ that is French perfection.
I’m sure somewhere someone loves Chris Brown in the UK, but thankfully it’s none of my friends. And obviously one of them, or a very AWESOME women’s rights advocate decided to speak up on the ever-so-violent Chris Brown.

The label states,”WARNING, Do not buy this album. This man BEATS women.”, and windows, don’t forget windows.
Is it just me or does Chris Brown look like he’s heading down Lil Wayne Street with a stop at 50 Cent Way? Either way as a women’s rights advocate I approve. I also hope they ship those stickers to the US. We could use a little more awareness in this country.
Beautiful, talented, and often killed by marauding arrows, Jennifer Lawrence is a woman of many talents. Not only that but recently she graced the cover of W Magazine black swan style.
With freshly dyed locks, she is an absolute stunner in these photos.
Despite the fact half the birds in the world are running around nude after this photo shoot I ADORE this. She has finally broken out of her pudgy little girl stage and is a stunner. PETA be damned, this feather spread is gorgeous and she has gone full peacock baby.
Marchesa designs are something to be loved, adored, worn on EVERY red carpet during Hollywood award season and absolutely kept an eye on. This year upcoming season we will be seeing gorgeous Bollywood looks from Marchesa hitting the red carpet.
The already stunning beauty of sari’s and embellishment is enough to tantalize the eye. This is Marchesa fashion house we are talking about though and a little more magic much be created.
Marchesa added a few of their signatures to create their ‘look’ for SS 2013. With fringe, plenty of skin, gauze covered dresses with oceans of organza they created ethereal goddess on the runway.
Dreamy perfection indeed.

Marchesa is stand out collection this year. Although they included a few of the color trends on runways this year, they threw caution to the wind and created art in fashion.
Marchesa is one of the best for the simple reason they create the unique, not the trend.
Spring/Summer 2013 New York Fashion Week shows are absolutely mind-boggling this years. Prabal Gurung has gone psychedelia 60’s and the 90’s rock and roll grunge era is being relived on the runway by some of the bigger fashion houses such as 3.1 Phillip Lim.
As always Herve Leger has stolen the show by NOT following the trend. Unique and definitely for the chic, Herve stunned me this year by taking his bandage dress and creating a feminine flirty dress and using geometric shapes to accentuate the positive.

As New York Fashion Week is almost upon us and Fall is nipping at our heels, it is time to look at what the runways brought us and what trends to follow and wear.
Whether deliciously conservative or madly daring, Herve Leger is a fashion design god that makes clothing for every woman. His creativity is endless and designs every mutating and changing leaving knock offs to the obvious fakers. Those who read (and write) this blog know not to crumble and buy anything but the real deal.

I happened across this video thanks to the amazing people at Models.com (subscribe!). It is a gorgeous fashion film with Ginta Lapin wearing nothing but AZZEDINE ALAIA. So perfect it literally made my afternoon better.

Recently I wrote a rather scathing piece on Hathaway/Catwoman and the Dark Knights choices for her horrible jumpsuit.
There may be a lighter side to the costuming in the Dark Knight.
I STILL have no love for Hathaway as Catwoman, or her costume with the mini ears. I loathe her lack of sex appeal and appreciate he was doing her best. I did however read an interview with the costume designer.
Turns out when lovely Anne was working the crazy as Selena Kyle her wardrobe was, thankfully, styled by a fashion mogul and mastermind. Thierry Mugler.
In case you are unfamiliar with Mugler, he ruled couture in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. He did all the costuming for George Michael’s ‘Too Funky’ video, has worked with the top supermodels in the world, was in the movie Pret-A-Porter and made pieces of costuming/fashion like this.
And then he stopped making fashion.
Now his Jewelry and Perfume collection are the only things to be found. However every once in a while a semi-retired genius will come out of his shell to create. ‘Dark Knight’ snagged Mugler who styled Anne as Selena Kyle’s outfits. HIS style came out looking like this;
I am pleased to see that Thierry has not lost his touch in creating magnificence. Sexy, scintillating, cat-like and very not Anne Hathaway this is magnificent. I only hope someone see’s this and sticks it in a high fashion magazine (Vogue Italia I’m talking to you).
Bravo! Ce Magnifique Monsieur Mugler. You just saved my opinion of the Dark Knight and Anne Hathaway as a model.
Science never ceases to amaze me hen it comes to new findings and strange animals, reptiles, amphibians, etc. It’s icky, gross and often VERY threatening. This is fine when it is extinct.
I recently had the chance to view documentary on ‘Titanoboa’. I figured it might be a fun romp into Docu land with a few added giggles. Instead it has turned me into a creature obsessed.
This colossal snake is closely related to the Amazonian Boa. This is frightening because it exists today. However Titanonoa died 60-63 Million years ago. The reason I preceded with the picture above is that Titanoboa was a MONSTER that could devour a large human without blinking.
According to Wikipedia.org;
By comparing the sizes and shapes of its fossilizedvertebrae to those of extant snakes, researchers estimated T. cerrejonensisreached a maximum length of 12 to 15 m (40 to 50 ft),[4] weighed about 1,135 kg (2,500 lb),[1] and measured about 1 m (3 ft) in diameter at the thickest part of the body.[5][6]
For Americans, that is 50 feet long, 2+ tons, its width larger/higher than your bed or kitchen table. And able to eat small mammals in a single bound with jaws that open to the size of a doorway in your house.

Now to move on to something slightly more alive and slightly more disgusting.; The Penis Snake
Yes, it’s real and it’s really, really gross looking.
This limbless amphibian is the newest find in the Amazon. The Amazon is full of new undiscovered species and plants. This happens to be one of them.
According to the Inqisitor.com, they found this beast in Brazil.
Monga Bay reports that the strange creature was discovered while the Madeira River was being drained as part of a damn building project in Brazil’s Madeira River. Biologist Julian Tupan said that six penis snakes were found at the bottom of the river.
The amphibious creature is know as Atretochoana eiseltiis. The scientists ho have found it and studied it tried calling it a ‘Floppy Snake’. Unfortunately due to its, um, happy face, shape color and size, it was re-dubbed ‘Penis Snake’.
I personally am fan of going PG-13 with this little guy, and calling it a trouser snake to soften the blow.

Way back in 2009 I had an amazing shoot with French Photographer Lise Sarfati for the photo series, ‘On Hollywood’. I have quit smoking since (yay me!), but the effect of the photo itself is striking and phenomenal. Like something out of a of an old Italian film. I am VERY proud of this photo.

In case you are unaware of Lise Sarfati, new to the arts or interested in learning more here is a little info on her.
Lise is Internationally renowned photographer who has done fashion campaigns which have appeared in Vogue, has shown her photos around the world and more recently in the Louvre Carousel and the Rose Gallery in Venice/Santa Monica. Most importantly is a she is key artist in the photography world.

I recently stumbled across a few campaign videos for fashion companies. I love the vivid new market of video that draws you in and makes you a fashion addict.
Odd models playing chess in Prada while looking sexy in full winter jackets (how do they do that?!) seems boring when saying it. But, no! Fast moving images, stoic supermodels, fierce makeup, perfume, jewelry, sharp imagery, art form. YES!

You are indeed one of the top, jaded designers in the world. I admire you greatly but the bitchfest must stop.
Poor Pippa Middleton was dissed by the emperor of fashion, Karl Lagerfeld.
As unattractive as this photo below may be, Pippa is still stunning. Her booty is all the rage and a celebrity of it’s own in the UK. Sadly, Unkle Karl feels that her booty is all she should show.
According to the quasi-newspaper the Sun, Lagerfeld was quoted as saying;
“Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette and she is the right girl for that boy. I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties. On the other hand, her sister struggles. I don’t like the sister’s face. She should only show her back.”
Unlike when he got nasty saying the singer ‘Adele’ was a little too fat in the face, no apology has been issued.
Last time ‘Adele’ received a ton of Chanel bags as an apology. Think Pippa might get some swag? I doubt it.
However if Unkle Lagerfeld IS feeling generous I suggest he send something to show off her butt. The male population will be ever-so grateful. We must, after all, emphasize the ‘positive’.
I have been meaning to publish something like this for a while. WithChik-Fil-A’s HUGE scandal with their President coming out against Gay Marriage, and Boston’s refusal to let them build there, it needs to be posted.
I of course referenced Wikipedia.org who has a HUGE list of ALL major Boycotts. I could include them as well but it’s better for others to research on their own as we all have varying opinions.

- Against Chick-fil-A – For their company making charitable contributions through their Winshape Foundation to organizations that actively oppose same-sex marriage initiatives across the United States, sparked by one of their restaurants catering a marriage seminar held by the notoriously anti-gay Pennsylvania Family Institute.[16]
- Against Heinz – The gay rights group, Stonewall, has urged supporters to stop buying Heinz products, after the company pulled a commercial of two men kissing.[17]
- Against The Salvation Army – Gay rights groups are asking people to boycott the Salvation Army’s red kettles and thrift stores, because of the organization’s stance against homosexuality.[18]
- Tourism/Business with Rushville, Illinois or Schuyler County, Illinois. Don Schieferdecker, county sheriff, made anti-gay and anti-semetic remarks on Facebook and refuses to resign.[19]
- Tourism/Business with Utah, especially Salt Lake City, Utah. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated money to push Prop 8 through in California, so gays and lesbians wouldn’t be allowed to marry.[20]
