Naomi Campbell on ‘Kimye’ Cover & Editorial Video for Vogue #NoThankYouVeryMuch #EndlessLaughing

vogue_kardashian

As the fashion world reels to the news the the ever relevant irrelevant ‘Kimye’ has taken over the Vogue cover, Naomi Campbell has spoken out. Or perhaps pulled the most epic LOL on the face of the planet. Normally I think she is stone cold B*tch, which can be great in fashion and modeling. No, really. However this time I want to hug that frozen goddess and thank her. Her rebuttal to the nasty made everyone smile. Possibly even Anna Wintour.

Check out the video below.

Miley Cyrus Topless in Vogue Germany #Miley #Again #MarioTestino

First it was the ‘Wrecking Ball’ naked video, then the twerking mess with poor Robin Thicke. We’ve seen Miley fall from grace, and head the way of slut like Lady Gaga with Terry Richardson’s ‘front thong’ pictures. However, there is hope!

Enter Mario Testino.

Mario Testino is a genius. Covering and photographing some of the most amazing artists, actors and supermodel’s in the world he is a constant beacon of artistic creation. In his photo set for Vogue Germany he has taken Miley ‘the tongue’ Cyrus and has transformed her into not only a lady, but icon Marilyn Monroe.

MileyVGcover1 MileyVGcover2

Although she did go topless for her shoot, Mario Testino made her look elegant and very much not like a 20 year old with something to prove. Mario Testino has certainly won this round with lil’ miss #Bangerz. Miley looks beautiful and elegant. She even looks happy without slutting it up and sticking out her tongue? Can we hope for more of this?

The saga of Cyrus continues with W Mag’s Topless shoot with the creative mind’s of Mert & Marcus.

In the meantime follow this link to see the topless picture of Cyrus;

McQueen, Meisel & Moss #Fashion #Editorial #Win

Ok, before you ask where has this lovely bloggy been, I have been deathly ill with the flu for  the 2 and a half time. This thing is easy to get apparently if you work at a 50,000 person convention for four days.

But that isn’t what you are here for is it?

My flu story can wait for another day. Fashion, is what really matters on this page. Especially the World of McQueen.

Sarah Burton has my support in spades. She is genius and is carrying on the McQueen legacy with aplomb. Take the newest fashion campaign. Hiring the ever talented Steven Meisel was smart. But genius stepped in when they added the omnipresent Kate Moss.

m-700x466
With creative direction from Pascal Dangin of KIDS, the 4 completed what can only be looked at as an astounding, and very surreal campaign. There is a mini Kate doll in these photos and I’m not sure whether I am more stunned by her or it. Most likely it’s the over all imagery. Intense, bold, beautiful and blue. The hues create the perfect campaign. Well done House of McQueen and Kate Moss. You’ve once again brought art into fashion.

And the campaign video is amazing as well. Very surreal with a nice creep factor.

Miley Does Marc….Jacobs that is. #SS2014 #Campaign

After seeing articles in the Huffpost, and spread across Facebook like some mad Miley disease I finally gave in, and took a look at Marc Jacobs SS 2014 Campaign. I expected to frankly, HATE it. I am over Miley Cyrus, here twerking, her tongue, and her goddam wrecking ball. I don’t really want to see her naked and smoking a blunt. That is why this totally took me by surprise;

original

I now believe in God. Or that God believes in Marc Jacobs.

This is astounding. Androgynous, and utterly beautiful. It shows a Miley Cyrus that is deep, genuine and stunning. Who knew?

When I got the actual campaign in my inbox and understood completely. Marc Jacobs has been working with Miley Cyrus on the skin cancer campaign. Featuring a bevy of nude celebs, as well as Cyrus. The campaign slogan is ‘Love the skin you’re in’ and the tee’s are racy, sexy and fun.

When Marc decided to feature Miley is his editorial campaign it came as no surprise. However, this is truly is. This is Marc Jacobs making art.

mcss14_09

It was for WWD Magazine! And it is a stunning editorial. He captured his line in spades. No wonder this came out as stunning art. I really have to say that the full photo has such intensity it reminds me why I am in the business.

Because Fashion is art. And if you cannot see the art in fashion, you probably should not be in it. And yes, you can quote me on that.

Well played Marc Jacobs, well-played.

Lady Gaga Continues Her Epic Fashion Fail #BadDay #BadMonth #BadOutfit

With an epic performance at the VMA’s and ‘Applause’ kicking the charts in the nads I would expect a crazy, fun, pop art, gay friendly Gaga to bring the greatness to her persona. A new Andy Warhol-esque diva perhaps? Something that is totally ‘ArtPop’?

Instead the Huffpost revealed this.

Lady Gaga seen leaving her apartment in New York City
And This;
Lady Gaga seen leaving her apartment in New York City

Oh, snap with a side of incredi-fail. Gaga is starting to look like a drag queen at 2:30am, after partying at The Abbey in West Hollywood, on Halloween night, aka, not so pretty.

I’m not sure what’s worse. Is it the smushed wig under a turban only Elizabeth Taylor could pull off? It looks akin to something that grew under my fridge a couple of months back. Her boobs are so squished, it literally is starting to give me sympathy pains.

Maybe it’s the dress that is screaming K-town $5 special? Perhaps it is the stoner glasses left over from the Lennon does acid while doing Yoko era? Maybe it’s just the ‘I did to many drugs and need a 14 hour nap’ face? Perhaps, it’s the fact my roommate thought I was showing her another picture of the 50-60 something year old Angelyne (at least she has style). The only redeemable thing here is the shoes. They are plain and simple and truly DO NOT match the outfit and that’s why they work.

Yes, Gaga has truly hit the ‘Diva down for the count’ look. Didn’t she just tell Miley Cyrus that drugs ‘eat your soul’?

I remember the days of new, young, hot and svelte Gaga. She was wry, witty and uber, uber fierce with a side of fucking awesome. She made videos with hot piece Alexander Skarsgard and worked it in rubber better than any bitch.

What happened? We will never know. Here’s hoping Gaga brings back the fierce. Just in case you need to remember what that looks like here is the video for ‘Paparazzi’. Maybe she will read this and it will snap her back into shape.

Damien Hirst x Alexander McQueen Scarf Collab. Beauty in Nature #New #Beautiful #MustHave

amq-hirst_1118x620-1

I make no excuses, nor will I ever lie about my total and complete dedication to the House of McQueen. There is virtually nothing in their collections I do not covet.

The house of McQueen just released a new scarf collection. The collection features a collaboration with iconic artist Damien Hirst. Hirst’s career reigned supreme in the UK in 90s and continues to impress, and be iconic, in the art scene.

The new collection features a nature theme with symmetrical designs in the classic McQueen skull motif. Add the effervescent talent of Sølve Sundsbø who shot the collection AND directed an editorial video for the scarves. He is by far one of the great’s in the industry who constantly produces amazing photography. I am impressed with Burton, of the House of McQueen, to tap such amazing talent.

With such beautiful representation, I am in complete submission, and awe, of this collection.

‘Etro’ for What Ails you, 2013/14 Fall/Winter Collection

Etro Fall Winter by Mario Testino

ETRO Fall Winter 2013 by Mario Testino

After covering Chanel and giving the classic side of fashion for fall, it seemed appropriate to give you ladies and gents an eyeful of Fall madness as well.

The ETRO label has always had an eye for creativity in design. Giving us a taste of their brilliance for fall, their designs encompass color and print with angular edges and futuristic diva-tude. They are all about flair and dare and leave the conventional behind.

Helmed by Gimmo Etro, who started the label in 1968, these designs are an alternative to the sullen colors of fall we often see. Think of ETRO as the cure to all your fall blues, scarlet’s and blacks.

Think you can embrace the insanity? ETRO does too. Check out the runway below.

Cara Delevigne for W Magazine. Poses Topless for ‘Style Rebel’. #InDepth #Realness #Nude

cear-cara-delevingne-model-cover-story-coverlines

Cara Delevigne is one of the most sought after models in the industry right now.

With her 21st birthday coming on the 21st Cara talks with W magazine about modeling, dreams, her family and just plain Cara (think awkward confessional). She sheds some truthful light on who she is in this beautiful pictorial by W magazine. All eyebrows and awkwardness Cara Delevigne is embracing her inner uncool fool. With her insane Instagram that rivals most and love for drums Cara gets raw. Exposing herself to be simple, creative, extroverted, adventurous (sometimes too an extreme) and sometimes just down right lewd. Cara bares all in this gorgeous 15 picture editorial.

Catherine McNeil and Mario Testino Team Up to Create ‘Prima Donna’ for British Vogue #Unique #NoirBeauty

Is there anything Mario Testino can not twist into magnificence? The answer is no, because he is pure art. Add uber model Catherine McNeil and you have an enchanting editorial for British Vogue called ‘Prima Donna’.

catherine-mcneil-for-vogue-uk-september-2013-by-mario-testino-1

Thankfully, Models.com posted said editorial in full. Styled by the very talented Lucinda Chambers, Catherine looks beyond stunning and Mario Testino’s artistic ways have yet again, stolen my heart. It is a shoot full of noir, the romantic and has an air of perfect grace. Truly a trump for British Vogue’s September issue.

Beyond the clothing and make up this shoot came out so stunning it took my breath away. I had to post it. Enjoy the ethereal works of Testino and the Cat.

Cool Things, Rare Color Film Shows London Life in 1927 #Biocolour #NotColorized #PhotoCool #London1927

Screen-Shot-2013-05-16-at-3.16.16-PM

Normally we are all about modern. Modern lifestyle, model’s, DJ’s and concepts. However, there is the rare occasion we are struck by something vintage that is so cool it much be shared.

Picture this…literally. In 1927 Claude Friese-Greene shot some of the first-ever color film footage around London. He captured everyday life in London with a technique, innovated by his father, called Biocolour.

This is not ‘colorized’ or faked. It was presented by the British Film Council and is all, exactly what it looked like, back then.

Urban Peek notes British Film Institute used computer enhancement to reduce the flickering effect of the original Biocolour

This film is almost 100 year’s old. Enjoy this little feature;

‘United Scandinavia’ by Patrick Demarchelier in Scandinavia SSAW Magazine #Gorgeous #TeamSweden #Editorial

I am very proud to say I am Swedish. My Grandmother came over from Goteborg, Sweden (pronounced yotee-boree if you can believe it) in the 1920’s and passed on her heritage and awesome cheekbones to my mother and I.
