TGIF Video – Dior’s ‘Secret Garden, Versailles’ video

dior-secret-garden

There are few things in this world that have my heart. One is the house of Dior. Classy, timeless and run by Raf Simons, it is purely chic. Delicious even.

The other is my old school, goth, new wave upbringing. Namely Depeche Mode who has a soundtrack to everything in my life. Their music was timeless and full of top 40 songs I have danced to since the 80s.

What do you get when you mix awesome English band Depeche Mode with Dior?

This beautifully done campaign video. Originally released in a short version the final, long version will steal your heart. I know it did mine.
Enjoy this visual eye candy.

Time to shop for Spring/Summer 2013, @MonikaChiang Style #Accessories #Shoes #Want #BlackisBack

If you haven’t acquainted yourself with up and coming designer Monika Chiang, now is the perfect time to. Having just received an email about her fabulous shoes I thought I ought to give her website a quick spin. Always, a great idea for a new Spring/Summer wardrobe, and bad idea for my bank account. Because….I want everything! But instead I’ll share a few key pieces I love.

The “LAVA SWAROVSKI STONE NECKLACE, BLACK”

Lava rock and swarovski necklace

This necklace oozes charm, style and a classic chic with a twist. The black lava chain gives it an industrial feel while the Swarovski classes it up enough to wear to a nice function. Absolutely a statement piece his screams little black dress and should be paired with something as fabulous as…..

Imena lace-up sandal

These shoes. These shoes that I am DYING for.

Lace-up sexy with a high heel to keep you above the rest the “IMENA LACE UP SANDAL, BLACK” screams La Femme Nikita. If James Bond ever turned int a woman she would bust these out. Seductress? Stiletto Sexy? Head turner? All of the above. I adore shoes so of course these are a must have on my list.

However, I am a woman on the go. I need to look smashing while being a little functional. Nothing says business like a black leather brief a la bag. I need a purse that screams business bitch, yet charms the man I am with.

Thankfully my search is over with the ever charming, “GABON LEATHER MESSENGER BAG”.

Baronleather messenger

This is functional, classy and is wearable for casual dates with jeans and those^ heels (Imena has my heart). The Gabon has extra zippers for an ‘edge’ and is easily carried or worn cross shoulder if you have to hit the subway.I love the look leather gets after elongated wear. Leather is forever and can last through numerous business meetings, airline flights and keep me looking classy.

Have I piqued your interest my fashionista’s? Good. Go shop the Monika Chiang collection here:

Sweets Jewelry, Carol Lynn Sweet’s and How to Give Back! #Jewelry #Gorgeous #Charity

A classic piece of really nice jewelry can make a woman do anything. Clean. Cook. Melt into putty. Scream and squeal like a dolphin.

Really, we are suckers for that.

Recently I had the honor and luck of meeting Carol Lynn Sweets, of Sweet’s Jewelry, at LAFW 2013 in Hollywood.

524247_347156195360030_797523137_n

More like, I jumped her and forced my business card into her face.
I had seen on the runway presenting gorgeous pieces that are sexy, sassy and made of GORGEOUS semi-precious stones. Think pearls, garnet, turquoise and jade to keep you feeling like a queen. No wonder I fell in love with her runway items.
Check out the LAFW runway presentation for Sweet’s Jewelry below,

Is it wrong I want everything on the runway I see?

After speaking extensively to Carol, I found out she is no emerging designer. Sweet’s Jewelry is featured in everything from TV to radio show’s. The list is massive.

A few worth mentioning are; Kick it Spot Radio, BRAVO T.V., MTV Music Video’s, Covergirl Photo Shoot, TMZ, 90210 2.0, PopCon 2012, L.A. Fashion Week, Miss Russia 2013 Swimwear Photo Shoot.

I that isn’t enough, they are on every red carpet in Hollywood including; THE Emmy’s, ITV Awards, various Oscar gifting Suites and the Grammy’s.

Are you feeling the love? You should be. Sweet’s Jewelry is not all about pretty necklaces and rings and things. There is a softer side to her business that makes us at HeathyrWolfe.com love her even more.

In her spare time Carol uses a portion of her profits for philanthropy. Currently Carol supports and raises fund for;

LongBeach Aids Foundation. The Eric Wylde Foundation Children in Guatemala, Shine on Hollywood Magazine Aid for Artists, and Kierrah Foundation Aid for Foster Children.

Carol decided to give back to the community by creating a special area on her site JUST for charity. All the Jewelry sold on the Charity Pages 100% of the Proceeds go directly to the foundation they purchase from.

TV, Model Shoot’s, Red Carpet. I’m impressed.

It turn’s out this fashionista/diva need’s to pay closer attention to her accessories. Sweet’s Jewelry is not only well made and gorgeous but obviously THE thing to grab while it’s still available. Why do I say that? Each piece is original and handcrafted.

That’s right, you will be wearing a limited edition/original. Annnnnd yes of course she does custom orders. I’ve already ordered my piece so you better get cracking with your credit card darlings. Where to go to buy? Click the link below and get your’s NOW!

Nikki Rich and B:Scott x Sarah Scott at Concept LA #LAFW #RunwayReport #HeathyrWolfe

I have been busier than Paris Hilton on Rodeo Drive this week with Los Angeles Fashion Week. First off I want to say to all the organizers and designers, you really came through this year. If Anna Wintour had come out she would have renewed faith in our LAFW. Ya’all are organized and really showing the fierce this year!

Here’s the rundown of Saturday, 3/9.

I went to the 5pm show for Nikki Rich and the 9pm show for B:Scott x Sarah Scott. I of course brought fellow fashionista and designer Amanda Christine of Aji, and later, HeathyrWolfe.com crew member Patrice Prince.

My 5pm outfit was better seen than photographed against the Concept LA art wall;

Nikki Rich was a delight. They really put their best fashion foot forward. I expected more rock n roll looks, but they went more into clean lines with superior draping and choices of material. Casual enough to be pret-a-porter but fierce enough for the diva in club land. I was pleasantly surprised at how full it was and was quickly seated.

The line came out and the runway was well done, professional and unique. I saw material laced with a cracked earth effect. This had an entirely pleasant addition bringing an elegance and originality to the collection. There were neutral colors in the collection but Nikki Lund added dashes of navy blue and deep wine red into the designs. Everything was casual chic and completely wearable, with a nice mix and matchability. Check out the line below;

Later that evening after I changed and returned for the B:Scott event. Running late I found out this event had hit capacity and then some. The gates were closed and the seats were full. Worried I was not going to get in I did last minute!! I squeezed into a VERY full room, thanks to Alyssa. (thank you so much for an amazing show).

B:Scott x Sara Scott entered the runway with a fierce attitude. Mixed with urban chic, heir designs are beyond standard ‘street wear’. Material contrasted beautifully with leathers, wool, cottons. Letterman jackets mixed with snood hats and satin suits in fire engine red. Sleek casual men’s wear graced the runway to cheers. Ending with a standing ovation, B:Scott was the winner of the evening.

What few pictures I did get are below.

Thanks again to Siren Studios, Concept LA and Alyssa and Mallory!
Stay tuned. More LAFW to come.

The Indomitable Gareth Pugh – #PFW #RunwayReport

This years collections have been over run with blasts from the pasts in design and color from the 20’s-1960’s. Colors have mostly been light blue, Cobalt blue, Persimmon and Burnt Umber with a dash of lime and forest green (Calvin Klein collection).

Thankfully a break in the horizon of fashion has come with the always dashing and daring, Gareth Pugh.

GAR_5452.450x675

His collection steps out of the norm to bring non-traditional minimalism. Full of monochromatic modernist beauty with a dash of midnight blue. An ethereal quality to his designs based more on draping and material instead patterns, and flashes of 60’s jewels and glitz.

GAR_6053.450x675

As always his collection sets a futuristic tone that has dominated Paris Fashion Week.

After all he is the indomitable. Gareth Pugh.

Things to Watch: L.A. Frock Stars on The Smithsonian Channel #Brash #Sass #Fashion #Celebs

I admit that most vices in life I have given up. However there are two things I will never let go of. Chocolate and television. And wine. And….oh blast let’s get back to television.

If you are like me you are addicted to every fashionably interesting show out there. I am still fuming there isn’t more ‘It’s a Brad, Brad, Brad World’ and am addicted to the new show The Face. I’m rooting for Coco seeing as she is sassy and quirky. Well Gods be praised a new show has popped up and it looks fabulous. And it’s set in L.A. which makes me an even bigger fan.

Enter Frock Stars L.A. with the ever wicked and cool owner Doris Raymond, owner of The Way We Wore. One of the hottest vintage shops in L.A. County which dresses some of the hottest celebrities (Adele, Dita Von Tease).

the-way-we-wore-1

How can I describe the owner? She’s fashionable, savvy and a vintage GODDESS. She knows whats up and down and she should be interesting to watch.

FrockStars

Add a fab staff of vintage divas in the know. Styles and designers they carry and hope to find range from the 1920’s to the 1980’s. And with a constant search for ‘the holy grail’ of vintage, it’s a super win.

Check out the teaser for the show here.

Temperley Goes Art Deco for London Fashion Week #Retro #Modern #LFW #FW2013

Starting out London Fashion Week full force, Alice Temperley took a classic 40’s inspired look adding dashes of golds and blue to accentuate the long linear figures. Drawing heavily on Art Deco and early sixties chic, Temperley still managed to present a very modern look including the ever trendy over sized jackets, boatneck and high collars we have seen all over runways this year.

Her full length gowns wrecked the runway this year with elongated silhouettes. I can see Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton or some other ethereal goddess wearing these to award season. They are chic in design, geometric shaping and linear quality making any woman look tall and lean.

Bravo Miss Temperley.

Rihanna Creates ‘Slutwear’ Line for her Debut at London Fashion Week, Jeopardizes £800,000 Contract #LFW #Rihanna #Tragic #Horror #WeedTweet

Defined as a ‘horror’ and worse Rihanna’s fashion debut at London Fashion week is a terrible fail.

Don’t clap hunny. it only makes things worse. (Photos by WireImage/Getty)

‘The Daily Beast’ described her line as a ‘horror show’, and they were right!

According to the Huffpost, Rihanna was over an hour late starting. Making a crowd wait isn’t unheard of, but an hour?! Everything was badly simplistic. TV-esque, 90’s style, with one piece Baywatch Swimsuit & SJP LA Story, off-shoulder outfit with mini skirt. No flourish or trim and 97%  see-through, gauzy material fit for a romance novel cover. She was off-season, presenting in London late and not scheduled as part of ‘Official Fashion Week’.

If I were Rihanna right now, I would be hiding somewhere in a bottle of rum.

There are too many reasons Rihanna’s line was a failure but let’s highlight a few.

Involvement; Rihanna’s direct involvement with River Island creating her line, was small at best. She sent texts and emails, choosing the material samples and giving the OK on design via phone. Nothing more. Despite her sad choices in design and material, the real credit to the line goes elsewhere.

Her line created, sewn and draped by designer Philip Green. Green created the Kate Moss line ($$$$) and brought TopShop from a zero to multi-million dollar hero of retail. Philip Green’s collaboration with rock stars and models have ALWAYS created money. However Rihanna is a a fail and a flake. Why?

Professionalism: River Island directly works with ASOS, Primark, Zara and of course Topshop, all of which Rihanna could have had a stake in with a £800,000 contract. Then she jeopardized that.

Two days before her London debut Rihanna was stupidly bold enough to post pictures of a marijuana bud putting her line and professionalism at question with River Island and the fashion community. Mostly, River Island, who very much said that her tweet of green could kill her contract and to keep things under wraps about her love affair with weed. In the fashion community we don’t care what you do, but don’t let everyone know about it.

Over all the line was simple, sad and see through, I can’t even wear it to bed. The blatant 90’s rip off wear is too much for any serious designer to stomach. Rihanna gets a D- for effort, and if possible an F- for the line.

Punk is NOT Dead! MET Costume Institute Displays Punk Coutoure. #McClaren #Westwood #McQueen #ROCK

All photos by Betty Sze of Models.com
All photos by Betty Sze of Models.com

Who say’s Punk is dead? Not the NY MET Costume Institute. Recently Anna Wintour, Riccardo Tisci and several others put their best punk foot forward at a gala to display a full array of punk wear. Original Vivienne Westwood/Malcolm McClaren, McQueen, Lagerfeld and Galliano’s outfits are displayed in this diverse look at punk influence.

Punk art & street influence began to show its distasteful head in the mid-1970’s and still has a rough handle on the fashion industry to this day. Ricardo Tisci of Givenchy, Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm Mclaren embraced it around 1976 and never looked back. To this day Westwood’s punk influence is still pretty heavy in her collections. You don’t get to be a well-known designer of 30+ years by playing it safe. And punk, has NEVER been safe.

Checkout the display in New York City from the MET evening of Punk.

Eva Mendes Dives into Fashion with New York & Co. Deal #NewLine #Sexy #FashionDiva

eva-mendes-met-gala-2011-Stella-McCartney
I love Eva Mendes. She is spunky, sexy, knows how to smile, takes things seriously but not too seriously. She is hot, has curves and is just plain gorgeous.

It makes perfect sense having all these attributes that she would go and start her own fashion line.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, Eva has partnered with NY&Co. Known for their simple and clean work styles, to create some bombshell gorgeous evening wear. It will be called (of course), Eva by Eva Mendes. Nothing like adding star quality and name to your brand.

“This could be significant for us,” said Greg Scott, chief executive officer of New York & Co. “We like to think big. We’ll see how the collection can grow.” Bridesmaid dresses are just one of the opportunities, Scott said.

Eva by Eva Mendes will consist of a large dress component and accessories. “We don’t address day-to-evening and real cocktail looks today,” Scott said. “There will be pants and jeans because that’s what our brand is known for. Eva is excited to pursue that also.”

I’m glad Eva is pursuing casual wear. We need more pants and jeans to fit our curvier girls. My roommate is 24/7 hell trying to find cute jeans to fit her booty. Eva’s style is amazing and she knows how to put something together is always unique with class. CEO Greg Scott of NY&Co. agree’s;

“We want her influence in the collection,” Scott said. “She has amazing red carpet style and also has a very unique style off the red carpet. She has a real sense of self, which will help us in terms of the design aesthetic. When we look at her, she really is confident.”

Hell yes she does. And she’s smart as a whip too.

I’m looking forward to see what miss thing can put together. I think Eva is beyond sexy. Any attire she helps them create will be too. With such a great sense of style, how it not be a win?

Th collection should have quite a few LBD’s and is full of print’s. Worried it’s ANOTHER celebrity brand with no Eva behind it? Ms. Mendes is 150% involved.

Mendes has already participated in a few creative meetings. “The other day, I went to the office with half my closet,” she said. “Part of the fun is coming up with the designs and looking through my closet. There are a lot of prints and lots of color. Black can be very chic and very New York,” but Mendes realized that her wardrobe is comprised mostly of color and prints.

You go sexy bitch!

I’m looking forward to seeing what she can do for the industry. If she can’t do it, no one can.

Don’t disappoint Eva. We are rooting for you.

Runway Report – Prabal Gurung FW 2013 Collection #GracefullyEdgy

Prabal Gurung has stepped out to be a celebrity favorite in recent years. His clothing has something for everyone. From Michelle Obama to red carpet divas, his collection is both surrealistic art and feminine grace.

polyvore prabalgurung

This year Prabal Gurung has taken the theme of military colors style that we see in so many collection’s and mixed it with draped material that flow against the body. Not forgetting well-placed fur trim, casual sweaters and and classic military chic crossed with with a vintage look of class from the 1940’s. These are apparent in every collection for Fall/Winter 2013. So what makes Prabal Gurung stand out above the many collections we have seen?

He crossed it with his personal touch including; well placed cut outs and the ever influential Gothic element, creating a striking collection. The biggest selling point? His above the knee buckle boots that are to die for.

Runway Report – Jason Wu Starts Off New York Fashion Week With a Bang! #Hot #NYFW #FW2013 #JasonWu

As Fashion Week in New York begins Jason Wu has stepped forward as one of the first designers to define style for the Fall Winter 2013 season. Wu brought forth a collection that was monochromatic, with dashes of persimmon & varying shades of taupe on classic looks that embodied the late 60’s and 80’s. Flash has been replaced with refined style, a dash of futurism, monochromatic blocking and elongated peplum-skirted figures. Add the accessory of rich fur throughout his collection and overall his women’s collection put it’s best foot forward to start New York Fashion Week out with a proper BANG.

Alber Elbaz Approves! New Lanvin Campaign Editorial Video. #SS2013 #Lanvin

I love how designers are doing editorial video’s these days. They have canned the hyped-up artistic view and started to get strangely fun and creative.

Take Lanvin’s new campaign video. Although it screams hot, sexy fashion Alber Elbaz decided to have some fun and do a commentary Skype style. Making Lanvin’s new campaign not just luscious preening models, but a little more interesting insight into a creative designers mind.

Check out Lanvin’s New SS2013 Campaign video here;

It’s All About #Geometry. SS2013 Herve Leger.

With things going the way they have this January, I can only apologize for not filling you in and writing. I do however feel caught up on health and work issues so it’s time for me to dazzle you with something special. With NYFW upon us (the 7-14th) I thought you might need a pre-fashion week fix. Luckily the demi-god designer known as Herve Leger just put his SS2013 designs on sale. And they are beyond amazing.

This years Spring/Summer collection dazzles with geometric shaping. Known primarily for his beyond sexy bandage dresses, Leger always bring something new to the table. Otherwise his collection would not be THE thing to buy and wear. This year he added intensity in geometric shaping to make his dresses have extra emphasis on your body shaping. Turning every woman into a an angular modelesque shape that flatter and make his clothes and accessories as close as you can get to wearing art.

Note the harness and the shaped pants. They really are something out of this world.

Yes, it comes in Black as well.

And the The amazing piece by far is one of my favorites. The contours, lines with an addition of a flirty skirt make this well worth the money and pre-order.

My god it really is reminiscent of a piece of Art Nouveau. The lines both swirl and the embroidery delicate. This is modern-day grace.

Unfortunately with a whopping $12,500 dollar tag I may have to wait on buying it. Thankfully this is pre-order custom piece by Monsieur Leger.

Either way everything in this collection is worth buying and dreaming about. And dreams like this in my world, end up in my closet.

Progress on the Fashion Front – Vogue Thailand Hires it’s First Male Editor-in-Chief

Vogue. Addiction. The bible. However you want to label it, it’s name alone comes with a hefty reputation.

I am pleased to see that Vogue Thailand is living up to that rep, by hiring the first male Editor-in-Chief, Kullawit Laosuksri. First male editor for Vogue, ever. In the world.

Kullawit

Starting things off with a bang Kullawit decided commission Phillip Treacy, extraordinary haberdasher to the fashion elite (oh and the Gaga) to help him with the cover. According to Nation’s interview with the pint-sized super editor;

For the Thai edition, we also want to present Thai women’s cheerful attitude and lifestyle. For the first issue we wanted a chada [the traditional tall coronet], which is internationally recognised and has a sophisticated design. We searched the archives of the master of the craft, Chakrabhan Posayakrit, and then asked Phillip Treacy, a world-renowned maker of headdresses, to create a chada we could display on our cover.

ThaiVogueChadaTreacy

Bravo! excellent start. Unfortunately Thai Vogue is working with the smallest budget out of all the Vogue magazine’s in the world. If this is what Vogue Thai is starting at the gate with I may have to pick up an issue to support. I do have faith that the smallest are the fiercest and can make something out of nothing. Cough…I speak from experience.

Here is hoping that Kullawit is knowledgeable and ambidextrous as an editor. Also that there are some damn good advertisers. Vogue lives off that money!
